Mass media in its original form will never be the same again.  Traditional television was represented by a handful of networks that were responsible for bringing quality content to millions of viewers.  Production costs are high, which limited the amount of companies that could produce television content.  Cable television’s competition brought a  high number of channels, which diluted the quality-level of television.
